Thirty-Ninth Keychain-[Written]

Naminé's gone, isn't she.

It's that time of year again, isn't it? For the snow and everything...it's kind of nice. Just means it's closer to Christmas.

How many worlds are there that actually get snow? My world never did.

Hey...I'm ready to talk about...whatever it was you wanted to tell me.

[Filtered to Axel]

We need to talk.

[Filtered to Sora]

...have you met Xion?

If you want to get technical... it has to do with how near the equator it is.

[And here he's going to chuckle before drawing a little sketch of the ball of the Earth there in the journal and labeling the equator]

It is an imaginary belt on the Earth. [...A pause and then-] That part of the globe is getting direct sunlight through most of the year, and as such it is warm all the time.

[Okay excuse him while he chuckles a little-] For half of the year - spring and summer there - one side gets more light. For the other half, the world's position has changed relative to the sun [And he she sketches that shift there...] and so the opposite side gets spring and summer, so the first side gets fall and winter.

However.... [And he her circles about where Florida would be on both sketches] Miami is right here. See how it is getting sunlight in both cases?

[And he in turn is proud to teach a kid things. Damn father complexes]

The islands you're from?

I see. [That was shady, but he'll let that slide.

For now.]
Then this snow must be different for you too.

I- [...] I see.

Son, what's your name?

[identity profile] miamijustice.livejournal.com 2009-11-17 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
I feel it's often a good idea to know the name of who you're speaking to.

My name is Horatio Caine.

Glad to hear it.
