Fifty-Sixth Keychain - [Voice/Action]

Man, what's up with this heat wave? Like three days last week and now the second day in a row this week? Axel, maybe you had it right. The ocean's sounding pretty good right now. It's probably too late in the day to get out there though.

[And maybe Axel was right about a few other things. Mainly, Roxas needs to be more of a teenager and less of researcher. So today he's taken the redhead's advice and enlisted in some tomfoolery of his own.

It just happens to be in the form of water balloons. A whole bucket of them, and he's sitting next to them outside of what would be KH house if it was visible to everyone.]

So...I've got a bunch of water balloons that are dying to be popped. Who's up for a fight? Some of you actually don't have a choice, but I'm pretty sure you know who you guys are.

[Don't ask him; he read about it in a book.]

There's an opening on the bottom that you can stretch around a hose or a faucet and fill it.

A bunch of us are meeting in the middle of town and then heading back to the fight zone. Meet ya there?

...they're kinda rubbery so maybe a little if you hit them in the face or something, but not really? [Roxas is starting to pick up on that.]

You bet. [He's a little amused watching the rabbit approach.] We're heading back to this clearing we found. We've got a bunch of balloons out there. Sound good?

I'll make it up to you later. [He shrugs a little.] Thanks, I think.

Lina...nice to really meet you. I'm Roxas. Can't remember if I managed to get that far the first time we met.

He seems like he's way too serious. I think a few balloons could fix that. Try it if you want.

Oh, sure! You got some stuff we can hide behind? Water balloon fights are more fun if ya can try to hide.

Definitely. There are trees and buildings and all sorts of other stuff out there. It's just hard to describe so that's why I'm taking everyone back as a group, see?

Is throwing them at people part of a game? [...This is starting to sound like fun!]

Oh! But how does the water stay in?

[her paws. they are not good for tying.]

Don't think you did. [She pats him companionably on the shoulder.] So hey, might as well make sure. Nice to meet ya, Roxas!

That's pretty much the whole point. You throw them at people and people try to throw them at you.

Well...you tie up the end. [Roxas doesn't know about the paws though :(] It blocks the water from seeping out and then it doesn't disappear, you know?

I didn't think so. That whole week was just a mess...sorry for anything I did.

But hey, fresh start. We've got a place out this way where there's a lot of space to run around and places to hide to bombard other people with the balloons.

Fresh start! Glad to hear it, Roxas! [Lina punches the air with the hand holding the water balloon.] Already got a place picked out, huh? Excellent forethought, Roxas! Lead me to it!

[Whoa! Enthusiastic isn't she? He'll just grin though and pick up the bucket again, turning to head back toward the clearing he picked out.] I thought it was a pretty good idea. Come with me.

[He bounces back and forth on the balls of his feet, clearly excited.] Oh, sounds perfect! Let's go!

Oh, that sounds like so much fun! Where can I find some? [Oh boy. Here we go.]

What if there's too much water, meow?

[It pops. Duh. But this is Tao we're talking about.]

Well, they pop too early then. You're only supposed to fill them up about half-way.

Well...there's a package of balloons in the items shop the last time I looked, and I took a bunch of them and filled them up here so...you can come play with us if you want.

[And Roxas starts leading!] When's the last time you played with water balloons anyway, Oswald?

[Oswald falls silent for a moment, his ears drooping. He used to have water balloon fights with Ortensia and the kids. Or sometimes even paint balloon fights. And then Horace or the animatronic pals would join in and it ended up being a vicious battle between just them and Oswald, while the others watched.

That was before the Thinner Disaster, obviously.]

It uh... It was a pretty long time ago!

[Roxas can tell that it's something Oswald's a bit depressed about, but he won't pry.] You're still ahead of me. I've never had one.
