[here have a Roxas tied to a tree in the middle of the forest and wrapped up in bright Christmas lights with 'Merry Christmas!' and snowmen painted on his face, definitely not looking happy. feel free to find him like this. Also, he's got a skateboard laying next to him as a present from the Mally-peoples, but that's not his main problem]

...YUFFIE!

[grumbles]If I don't get down, nobody's getting presents. [yes, he broke down and picked out presents for Aros, Sora, Yuffie, Bella, Fina, and even a little something for Cloud, Xigbar, and Salt]

Sounds about right.

I don't know a lot about being a "hero", or saving the world. I just know what Sora knows, and I know what happens when two parties are too blinded by their own goals to see all they're doing is screwing up even more. People have to reach the bottom before they can start trying to fix things, try to save the world. Or, worlds, in some people's case.

Everything bad starts with a misunderstanding. [Cloud's murmuring and letting his fingers drift in the water.] Makes me wonder if there really is such a thing as the bad guy sometimes.

...really, the only true enemy we have is ourselves. It's our own thoughts and our own actions that cause bad things to happen.

So if someone else does something clearly wrong... [Cloud picks up a rock, drops it into the stream.] Is that their fault, my fault or someone else's fault?

Depends. How much interaction did you have with the person? Is what they did wrong something that affects just them, just you, or the whole world? [finishes washing most of the paint off and just sits next to the stream, watching the water flow and Cloud's rock sink to the bottom]

...I don't know yet. Technically, the whole world, but... [Cloud drops another rock.]

...are you talking about that Sephiroth guy? [yes, Yuffie told Roxas about Sephy]

Not this time. [Cloud stands; the conversation is hitting a little too close to home for his comfort.]

[just sort of makes a noise of agreement, barely looking at Cloud before continuing] ...then sometimes, you have to be a hero whether you want to be or not.

...Come on, village is this way.

[gets to his feet, still looking rather contemplative about the whole thing]

[The walk to the village is probably a very quiet one, then, and Cloud turns to part ways with Roxas once they hit the treeline.]

If you need a hand getting back at her, let me know. I still owe her for something a while back.

I'll let you know...she's definitely not going to expect it, that's for sure. [suddenly blinks as he remembers something] Oh, I have something for you. [proceed Roxas digging through his pockets before handing Cloud a copy of The Night Before Christmas]

[Cloud blinks and takes the book in surprise, glancing down at the cover.]

What's this for?

Hmm...think of it as a Christmas present, to explain what Christmas actually is. You don't have to keep it if you don't want to, I just thought maybe you'd like to know.

[AWKWARD. Cloud feels kind of bad.] ...I didn't get you anything.

[shrugs, trying to play it off cause he's really awkward about giving people stuff for reasons he doesn't really get, like Christmas] I don't care, don't bother getting me anything either. Like I said, strictly just to explain the whole point because I did a bad job of explaining myself.

[Cloud kind of thumbs through the book.] You didn't do so bad...I just didn't get it. It was my fault.

How about it was neither of our faults and we just blame the holiday itself for being confusing?

[...sounds good. Cloud shrugs and gives Roxas a nod.] I'll go with that. Thank you anyways, Roxas.

Sure. Thanks for getting me down, I've been out there for hours.

[Cloud just groans and rubs his face before offering a wave and turning to go back home. For all her merits...Yuffie sure could be a huge pain in the ass sometimes.]

[watches Cloud leave, kind of curious still about him from what both he and Yuffie had said but can't do much but turn around and head back to his own place]
