Twenty-Fourth Keychain-[Accidental Voice/Action]

[so, nobody's really seen Roxas for the past few days/week because he's been hiding out at the lake. Today the blond boy has his feet in the water and he's laying on his back, reading a copy of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and actually relaxing. Or day-dreaming, whichever. Next to him is a small fox who's busy trying to catch a fish, so Roxas is gonna talk to him anyway]

If Alice fell down the rabbit hole, and I fell down the barrier into the forest...and if Alice saw a bunch of weird whimsical things that never existed in her own world, and I'm meeting people and seeing things I've never seen before...and the Queen was trying to more or less torture Alice in her kingdom, and the Malnosso are terrorizing us in their own world...does that make Luceti my own Wonderland?

Kind of messed up, isn't it?

[The fox voices his agreement and Roxas sighs, going back to reading the book instead. Feel free to bother him, really]

[You'll spot her now, and she spots you, a grin spreading on her face. She offers a wave.]

[Roxas gets up and waves back, closing his journal and walking over with that and the copy of Alice in his hand] That was quick.

That would explain it then. [he hands Martel the book then] And there you go, as promised. I think you'll really like it.

[still playing with Axel's fingers] We're still best friends, right?

[noticing now]

Always.

You do? It must truly be good, then, for you and I are near strangers.

It's one of those classics that's pretty well-liked by everybody who's read it. More or less, if you like fantasy stories and adventure stories, you'll like it.

[letting his mind wander so he's just going to keep on doing what he's doing] Always is a really strong word to use.

I've not read a book in... quite a long time.

[She closes it, smiling up at him now.]

I'll try not to keep it long.

[yesyes he did so no worries~] Yeah...? Reading's a good thing to do while we're here. Keep it as long as you want, I don't mind.

Were it not for reading my journal, I'd be rather out of practice. I scarcely had time for books, even in my first life.

[She's looking over the cover now.]

It's quite a pretty book.

It is. The illustrations are really quite nice.

Then how do you know it fits for you and me?

...I guess I don't? But I'd like to think it does.

My first life... Well, I suppose this has all been one life, technically, but... In my first life, I was mortal. A mere half-elf, until I died.
