344 days. 21 more days before one year. Am I a different person than I was a year ago? Am I even a person here? I'm still part of Sora, but in a different place, can a person be a person without a heart?

I don't even have anyone I can ask without hearing the same answer; "You're not Sora, you're Roxas". I know that. To the Organization, I'm number XIII.

Xemnas is gone. Xigbar's actually trying to keep the Organization together, but for what purpose? It's useless to fight Sora, he already defeated all of them. Kingdom Hearts doesn't exist here, so what's left?

It was easier to be here without the Organization, without Olette even. I never had to explain things I didn't know how to really explain, and I was the same to every single person except for Sora, Riku, and Kairi.

Sometimes I wonder if it would be better if Aros was still here. He didn't talk a lot, but he got it. He completely understood.

When I was first born, my journal entries during my time in Never Was were very short and simple; "Today I did this. I completed this mission and then me and Axel met at the tower to eat ice cream." Suddenly they're much longer now.

Axel finally returned. He seems to be all right, but he's been sleeping a lot since he came back. He didn't seem injured, just tired. He's been sleeping almost straight through the past few days. I've been sitting on his bed reading. He wanted me to stay and so I did because best friends do what their best friends ask.

Kairi's gone though. Kidnapped, not gone. Sora and Riku are trying to find her but she's been missing for about a week. Maybe she'll be back soon. It seems that the Malnosso do a trade. Return one, take another.

Riku says I should "butt out" and let Sora and himself take care of it. Because Kairi's their friend and not mine. Because I'm not Sora and I'm not helpful. Because they don't need me. I don't know if he's right or wrong.

The sun hasn't been as bright as it should be.

[Closes his journal and sits up further] Really. Suddenly I'm your nurse now?

I think people should. They should enjoy what's left of the summer.

[Don't mind his quiet tone, Axel's still sleeping in the same room after all] Exactly. What have you been doing to enjoy it then, Bella?

Think of it as retribution for that time I took care of you.

Or I can think of it as me just being a good person. What are you hungry for, anything in particular?

I've been spending a lot of time reading outside. Either by the lake or in one of the fields. It's a little more humid here then Arizona, but I still like it.

Arizona?

It's where I used to live. It's usually very hot, dry, and sunny there, and it's surrounded by a lot of desert.

Sounds really warm there. Humidity doesn't bother you, does it?

I'm not that used to it, so it does a little bit at times, but the cold bothers me more.

Maybe we'll get luck and it won't snow as much as it did last winter.

One a the reasons'm throwin' a birthday party in the first place!

Yeah, wrote about it in the journal a couple days ago... Anyone with a journal'n wings's invited, so if ya wanna come just so things ain't so quiet, no problem.

[She'll pick up on that, and sorry Roxas, but your amusement might bother her just a little, and you'll probably hear it in her voice. Though don't take it personally. It's just because Edward teases her all the time.]

Especially when you prefer warm weather.
