Forty-Seventh Keychain-[Action]

[If a person were to look out toward the forest in the early evening, they might see a bunch of bright lights flashing and disappearing every now and again. If a person were to go investigate, they would find Roxas out there wielding Oathkeeper and Oblivion, jumping and twirling the Keyblades occasionally and using his light powers to full advantage fighting off this beast that towers over him and that ambushed him on his way home. Really, Roxas was doing fine on his own and he almost had the other Nobody beat when suddenly something flashes out of the corner of his eye and another strange monster bearing the same Nobody crest seemingly floats up to the Twilight Thorn, attacking with a flurry of blade movements and eliminating the creature all together. Roxas stares for a moment, half wondering where the other creature came from and half wondering why it attacked the Thorn. Samurais shouldn't be listening to him anymore, right?]

Um. Thanks?

[Sure. All well and good, all right. Roxas is going to nod in thanks, assume that the Nobody will go away on its own and begin walking away. The problem, however, is that this particular Samurai seems to think that Roxas still controls him. Even when he picks up speed, Roxas finds himself being tailed by the Nobody all the way back to the main part of the village.]

...no really, I mean it. Thanks, but you're done. [The Samurai doesn't want to leave though. He's happy hovering over Roxas.]

Go. Away.

[It's a stubborn thing. So? If a person were to be brave enough to venture into town, they would see a looming gray monster and a short blond boy having a staring contest. Make of that what you will.]

[ooc: characters can either encounter Roxas in the village with just the Samurai, or at the end of the fight with the Twilight Thorn. Up to you guys.]

It shoots air, so that's really all I can think it could be?

[ but... Nobody? ]

Nobody?

It looks so...small. For being a dragon and everything. [Because hey man, Sora's memories let him see Maleficent as a dragon and that was kind of ridiculous.]

Nobody. They're from our world, but this is only one kind. There's probably a hundred kinds or more. This kind used to follow me around at home.

Not all dragons are big. Not all of them start out big either. When Mikage was a fyulong he was about this size. Adults were as big as any air ship.

[ examining the Samurai more. hundreds? ]

Any reason for that?

That pink bunny-looking thing, right? I think I saw him like that around here.

[The Samurai sways a little, but doesn't do much else. Roxas sighs.]

Because there are hundreds of types of Heartless probably. They kind of show up at the same time.

...Yeah. That thing. It's really a dragon, I promise.

[ it's okay though, Teito doesn't feel threatened at all. ]

Heartless?

I never would have guessed. It's so...yeah. [He shakes his head. Teito is clearly a brave soul. Or the Samurai's just not threatening, either or.]

...long story. Got time? I could always go with the short version, too.

Pink and fluffy? I understand. He did breathe fire though, if you weren't careful. [ point of fact: Teito's body houses EVIL things. like the body of Verloren sort of thing. there's little to be afraid of. but he titls his head a bit. ]

Whichever you feel comfortable with giving.

Yeah, that. I'll take your word for it though. [...because that doesn't sound disturbing at all! Though intriguing. He shrugs a little bit.]

More or less, if a person lets themselves be consumed by darkness, they lose their heart and...well, they become Heartless. Without a heart, there's just the body and soul. That's what the Nobodies are. Make sense? [He'll be surprised if it does.]

[ oh. that... that's interesting all right. but he believes it and kind of gets it. ]

Sort of. People can be consumed by darkness back home.

[Oh, it gets more interesting, but Roxas won't get to that point just yet.]

But can they come back in your world?

Yes and no. It's not really them. When everyone is born, the Chief of Heaven allows three wishes. At the third wish, a person dies and is reborn anew. Kor are things that try to lead people astray by granting these wishes in exchange for someone's soul. When they become tainted, they're no longer people but Wars with darkness that can consume souls.

That sounds a lot more complicated than it should. So the people who get stuck exchanging their soul...do a lot of people escape consumption? [Don't mind him, this is the first time he's really heard of someone with situations similar to his world's.]

I guess it is if you haven't heard of it. But that's why bishops exist. To get rid of Kor and the curse they bring with them. Bishops can even purify Wars.

Almost like the reason why the Keyblades and their masters exist. With all of that taken into consideration though, where do Kor keep coming from?

[ little interested in your world too there, Roxas. ]

Not everyone can be saved. And I guess as long as Verloren still exists, so will the Kor.

And Verloren are what again...? [New terms. Awesome.]

Yeah, it's...well. [Hold on, busy calling forth Oathkeeper and Oblivion. The Samurai starts and lifts its own swords almost like it's going to attack Roxas, but it stops when it sees what's going on.]

The Keyblade. Powerful weapons from home, used to lock and unlock worlds to prevent the Darkness from overruling worlds. We've used them to defeat Heartless and Nobodies to release their hearts. And Sora's the one who's done more of the locking of the worlds. Sora's the Keyblade Master, but there are others who can wield a Keyblade.

[ eyes snap to the Samurai and then back to Roxas. that sounds sound too different than what he currently does... Well releasing people from their darkness anyway... ]

Like you, right? But what do you mean lock and unlock worlds?

[ dfasdfa OH RIGHT. ]

Verloren is someone who was sealed away because he killed the Chief of Heaven's daughter. His soul wanders and is reincarnated, but his original body is sealed away. It's said that the world will be thrown into chaos if Verloren finds his body.

[He hesitates for a few moments, shaking his head then and vanishing the two weapons.] Not exactly. Sora and I are two different people. As for the locking and unlocking? It gets complicated...if a world's not locked up, darkness can seep in and attack. Since the Keyblade fights with Light, it helps stop the darkness. Sora would know more about that and how it really actually works.

Sounds kind of creepy. Isn't there any way to stop his soul?

But that's still the purpose of a Keyblade, right? And, even if you and Sora are different people, you ca still use two of them.

[ stopping Ayanami's soul... pffft. ]

That's the role of the Seven Ghosts. They sealed up Verloren over a thousand years ago. They're supposed to make sure Verloren is never revived.

It gets complicated. Sora can only use two when he fights alongside somebody else.

That's the body though. I guess what I mean is why can't the soul just be killed? That's possible if they ever caught up with him, right?

Then why can you use two?

I guess because normally when Verloren's soul is born, that soul has no memories. I mean I guess the Chief of Heaven wants everyone to be happy.

...a friend of mine gave me that ability, I think. [It's partially true, anyway.] I started out only using one, too.

But after it's born, does it gain those memories back? Like...does the person whose body is hosting that soul suddenly start remembering things they probably shouldn't?

So you can give each other stuff like that?

[ woah confusion! then shifts on his feet. hnnng... Ayanami... ]

I don't think they do remember.

It...no. Not the way you're thinking, trust me. It happened on accident based on something that happened on purpose. I'm just trying to keep it simple, unless you really want all of the details.

At least they get to build memories of their own. It'd be almost unfair if they had to deal with memories from a lot of people that aren't themselves.

...You know how confusing that sentence sounded, right? [ laughs. ]

I sort of think that's the point. But some dreams still carry over from one life to the next, I think.
