Forty-Seventh Keychain-[Action]

[perplexme]

[If a person were to look out toward the forest in the early evening, they might see a bunch of bright lights flashing and disappearing every now and again. If a person were to go investigate, they would find Roxas out there wielding Oathkeeper and Oblivion, jumping and twirling the Keyblades occasionally and using his light powers to full advantage fighting off this beast that towers over him and that ambushed him on his way home. Really, Roxas was doing fine on his own and he almost had the other Nobody beat when suddenly something flashes out of the corner of his eye and another strange monster bearing the same Nobody crest seemingly floats up to the Twilight Thorn, attacking with a flurry of blade movements and eliminating the creature all together. Roxas stares for a moment, half wondering where the other creature came from and half wondering why it attacked the Thorn. Samurais shouldn't be listening to him anymore, right?]

Um. Thanks?

[Sure. All well and good, all right. Roxas is going to nod in thanks, assume that the Nobody will go away on its own and begin walking away. The problem, however, is that this particular Samurai seems to think that Roxas still controls him. Even when he picks up speed, Roxas finds himself being tailed by the Nobody all the way back to the main part of the village.]

...no really, I mean it. Thanks, but you're done. [The Samurai doesn't want to leave though. He's happy hovering over Roxas.]

Go. Away.

[It's a stubborn thing. So? If a person were to be brave enough to venture into town, they would see a looming gray monster and a short blond boy having a staring contest. Make of that what you will.]

[ooc: characters can either encounter Roxas in the village with just the Samurai, or at the end of the fight with the Twilight Thorn. Up to you guys.]

Keyblades and their masters?

[ little interested in your world too there, Roxas. ]

Not everyone can be saved. And I guess as long as Verloren still exists, so will the Kor.

And Verloren are what again...? [New terms. Awesome.]

Yeah, it's...well. [Hold on, busy calling forth Oathkeeper and Oblivion. The Samurai starts and lifts its own swords almost like it's going to attack Roxas, but it stops when it sees what's going on.]

The Keyblade. Powerful weapons from home, used to lock and unlock worlds to prevent the Darkness from overruling worlds. We've used them to defeat Heartless and Nobodies to release their hearts. And Sora's the one who's done more of the locking of the worlds. Sora's the Keyblade Master, but there are others who can wield a Keyblade.

[ eyes snap to the Samurai and then back to Roxas. that sounds sound too different than what he currently does... Well releasing people from their darkness anyway... ]

Like you, right? But what do you mean lock and unlock worlds?

[ dfasdfa OH RIGHT. ]

Verloren is someone who was sealed away because he killed the Chief of Heaven's daughter. His soul wanders and is reincarnated, but his original body is sealed away. It's said that the world will be thrown into chaos if Verloren finds his body.

[perplexme]

[He hesitates for a few moments, shaking his head then and vanishing the two weapons.] Not exactly. Sora and I are two different people. As for the locking and unlocking? It gets complicated...if a world's not locked up, darkness can seep in and attack. Since the Keyblade fights with Light, it helps stop the darkness. Sora would know more about that and how it really actually works.

Sounds kind of creepy. Isn't there any way to stop his soul?

But that's still the purpose of a Keyblade, right? And, even if you and Sora are different people, you ca still use two of them.

[ stopping Ayanami's soul... pffft. ]

That's the role of the Seven Ghosts. They sealed up Verloren over a thousand years ago. They're supposed to make sure Verloren is never revived.

It gets complicated. Sora can only use two when he fights alongside somebody else.

That's the body though. I guess what I mean is why can't the soul just be killed? That's possible if they ever caught up with him, right?

Then why can you use two?

I guess because normally when Verloren's soul is born, that soul has no memories. I mean I guess the Chief of Heaven wants everyone to be happy.

[perplexme]

...a friend of mine gave me that ability, I think. [It's partially true, anyway.] I started out only using one, too.

But after it's born, does it gain those memories back? Like...does the person whose body is hosting that soul suddenly start remembering things they probably shouldn't?

[ woah confusion! then shifts on his feet. hnnng... Ayanami... ]

I don't think they do remember.

It...no. Not the way you're thinking, trust me. It happened on accident based on something that happened on purpose. I'm just trying to keep it simple, unless you really want all of the details.

At least they get to build memories of their own. It'd be almost unfair if they had to deal with memories from a lot of people that aren't themselves.

...You know how confusing that sentence sounded, right? [ laughs. ]

I sort of think that's the point. But some dreams still carry over from one life to the next, I think.

[perplexme]

[He blinks at first, and then there's a bit of a nervous chuckle.] Yeah, it kind of did. Okay, let me try it this way. I did a favor for a friend a few years back. After doing that favor, I think she might have accidentally given me her strength and ability to use the Keyblade, too. That's why I can use two. [It's a solid theory; it's not like he was able to wield two before that anyway, so why not?] Like I said, the difference between Sora and I is that I can wield two all the time, but he needs to use somebody else to allow him to do it.

...oh. So it is the same. Dreams are confusing though so they probably just brush them off.

Makes more sense now that you've put it like that. Is your friend okay with it like that though?

[ mm... ]

Some people do. Some don't. I think the ones that brush them off can be corrupted easier.

Neither of them really get a choice. All of us have to be okay with it, but I guess in a way it was worth it to help Sora.

So everyone wants to help Sora. He's... Important?

[ thinks about the best way to explain it. ]

Well think about it. If you don't really know what you want in your life, then it's easier for the Kor to whisper suggestions or get into your head and make you believe you need a wish granted.

Incredibly. Sora's the Keyblade Master. He's the only one who can use the Keyblade to its full power to stop the darkness. I...just kind of have to help him along the way sometimes.

[Whoa now. Now we're getting a little too close to home.] Yeah, no, I get it. It's just that there has to be a way for people to make their own choices without the Kor influence, right? Even if they get manipulated, they can break away.

You're supposed to be able to do it on your own.

Considering he's incomplete without us? Yeah, I guess you're right.

Supposed to being the key word. Sometimes it just doesn't work, does it?

...yeah. Um. Sora's heart's been split up a lot.

So which exactly are you? Our of the Kors and Ghosts and all that.

How do you split up your heart?

[ laughs. ]

I'm just an apprentice bishop. [ and Pandora's Box. ]

You unlock it. Sora...ended up sacrificing himself, losing his heart and it split up temporarily.

[This? This is a look of a Roxas who doesn't quite believe that. If only because nobody is ever "just" anything.] So you're being trained to get rid of the Kor and Wars and stuff.

That... That must have taken a lot of courage.

[ a little sheepish. sees this look of yours, Roxas. ] Yeah. I mean... It's a little more complicated. Yes, I became a bishop's apprentice, but not to really deal with the Kor and Wars. I did it because I need to work out my memories and this the only way i can do that now.

[perplexme]

Probably. He only did it to save somebody else whose heart he was busy carrying around without knowing it.

[Okay, that sounds a little more likely.] ...where are your memories?

[ because... isn't that like holding onto someone else's essence? ]

Locked away. There was a war and the truth behind the war is something that's hidden there, so one of the bishops locked away my memories. They're programed to resurface after I visit the God Houses, people who are blood relatives of the Seven Ghosts.
