So let's say that someone recently showed up in this place, but they're from a time where they remember you differently. How can you tell them about how things are in the future without ruining everything? And this isn't just a "oh I moved away" sort of difference, this is something a lot bigger...like memories.

727 days. Nearly two years, and I still don't see any signs of me going home anytime soon. Should I consider that a good thing or a bad thing? For those of you who have been here that long, what do you think?

I mean I guess it's not much different than how me and Sora are connected, but we're also two different people. Can Ratatosk split into his own body away from you?

No, he can't. I think it's different with you and Sora... can you talk to each other in your minds? Ratatosk and I can't do that.

Not exactly talk, but I can see a lot of his memories still...kind of like a portal to his mind or something. So really Ratatosk doesn't do anything for you?

He takes over for me when I fight, but... that's really it. The only memories of his I can see are the ones that show up in my dreams, and there aren't very many of them. I think you and Sora are a lot more connected than we are, at least when it comes to sharing stuff like that.

Pretty sure that comes from the part where I was born from Sora's heart. I'm literally his other half. Ratatosk sounds way too different.

I wish I could ask Richter or Tenebrae more about how all of this works. Maybe then I'd be able to understand things better.

[He pauses to try and remember who those people are.] Would they actually have answers though?

Tenebrae would; he just didn't want to tell me anything.

...Tenebrae was that weird cat-looking thing, right? Why not?

Because he said it might mess up the timeline or something like that if I found out too soon.

The timeline. Right...that's always the problem here, isn't it? He knew a lot you didn't?

He and Richter were from my future. They knew... they knew how everything ended, but they wouldn't tell me any of it. Even if what happens is bad, I think I'd feel a lot better knowing about it than trying to imagine what it is for myself.

But if you knew, wouldn't you end up just dreading it until you got home?

[Voice]

... I don't know. I'm still dreading it even though I don't know what's going to happen. I don't see how it could be any worse.

I know what to expect when I get home, and at the same time I don't. It can always be worse, but I guess it just depends on how you handle it that determines how much worse.

That's right, you're going to...

[He doesn't really want to finish that sentence.]

I still think you're more upset about it than I am. [Not that Roxas isn't a tiny bit sad that he has to merge with Sora forever once they get home, but he's become rather used to the idea. It's how things have to be.]

How can you be so calm about it? Doesn't it bother you at all?

[Because the thought that he might somehow merge with Ratatosk and stop existing... kind of terrifies him.]

Well yeah it bothers me a little, but so what? What am I supposed to do about it?

I-I don't know... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to, it's just...

...no, it's fine. I think I've just gotten so used to it.

You aren't scared at all?

I think I'm more scared about what would happen to Sora without me.

Without you?

[He's not quite sure he gets it.]

Yeah. Without me, Sora's incomplete. Like half a person.
