Fifty-Second Keychain - [Voice/Action]

[perplexme]

[Roxas has spent the last few weeks doing a great impression of a chameleon, blending in with his surroundings and making sure not many people saw or heard from him. But he's come to find that he can't keep hiding, and he can't keep running.

Thus, today, nearly three weeks after the attack on KH house and a week after Sanji revealed the location of the house to him, Roxas has finally decided to approach home to try and face his two best friends.

...or...not. To anyone passing by, they might see Roxas just pacing back and forth in the area, never straying far from what appears to be an empty lot. To anyone who can see the house however, it's very clear what's going on.]

This really shouldn't be that hard.

[Soon though he stops and pulls out his journal, leaning against a tree to keep an eye on the house while he flips to a new page. He takes a few moments to gather his thoughts, but soon he speaks into the journal.]

...anybody have any good advice for making apologies?

[He blinks in surprise.] Yeah. [...oh, right!]

Sanji told me where it was because he said I wouldn't be able to see it otherwise.

[ ... he ran into Sanji?

and he's not dead? ]

[ action ]

[ that's ............... that's good ...

ahem. gathers herself, shaking her head. ] Well, at least that's one thing we don't have to worry about. But ... we probably still need to talk.

[ action ] STOP FLIPPING ME :|

[perplexme]

[Granted he saw Sanji like a week ago, but.] Yeah...one less thing. But you're right. Inside the house then?

[ action ] but I thought you liked it :o

[fourteen]

... yeah. [ she'll lead the way inside, quiet now. she's got a whole maelstrom of emotions going on, but ... well, she'll let them get out of the cold first. once they're in the house, she'll head for her room, motioning for him to follow. ]

[ action ] why would I like being flipped ;;

[perplexme]

[He follows behind her quietly, making no sudden moves once they get to her room. He does close the door though, leaning against it and watching her.]

[ action ] because you get to go flying! 8D

[ she walks into the room, and keeps her back to him even after he closes the door. she's not sure how to begin. but ... begin she will. ]

You know... I had a lot of time to think, while you were gone. Too much. And Vanitas... I think he's just evil. He did all of that for fun... in fact, he told me so. [ shifts her shoulders, trying to shake off the crawling feeling of disgust.

she moves over to her bed, taking a seat, but still not looking up at him. ]

I think ... he'd probably have laughed if he knew you'd left because of what happened. And I ... I don't want to give him that satisfaction. [ shakes her head. ] Roxas... what happened was Vanitas's fault, not yours. You didn't tell him to attack us. He just took the opportunity and then tried to pin the blame on you so we'd all be mad at each other. I'm sure he liked that...

But I don't want to play his game. [ ... finally looks up at him. ] ... no matter what happens, you're always going to be my best friend. Okay?

[ action ] ...well I do like flying...

[perplexme]

[He doesn't move from his place from the door, listening to Xion closely. As she progresses with her train of thought, he starts to relax more and more. It wasn't his fault. Xion didn't blame him anymore. Vanitas was just an asshole.]

I...thanks, Xion. Really. [He pauses, licking at his lips slowly as he lets his own thoughts catch up.] Vanitas is somebody we're going to have to be really careful of from now on. We have to work together to stop him, don't we? I don't want to play his game either. We're not going to let him win.

You and Axel are...really important to me. I'm not going to let anything else happen. I promise.

[ action ] see how helpful I am.

[fourteen]

[ she nods, slowly. ] Why do you think I had the house hidden? I didn't want him to be able to get in. He can still find us in the village, but... at least, while we're in here, we're safe.

[ but ... she'll listen to the rest of that in silence for a moment. she still looks kind of sad. ] ... just be careful, okay? But ... I believe you. [ smiles, still a little sad, but -- she's smiling. ] I know you won't.

[ action ] LIES.

[perplexme]

Smart move. Even if he finds us in the village, most of the time we won't be alone. We'll know what we're up again, and we can get away.

[He nods, more like he's reassuring himself than her.] ...it's still true, you know. I don't know what I'd do if I lost either you or Axel. ["Again."]
