Fifty-Fifth Keychain - [Action]

[Okay, it's warm. Very very warm. Even for the evening it's hotter than usual...but that doesn't explain why there's a blond boy wandering through the forest without his shoes and without his shirt. True to New Feather nature, the boy's wearing just the white cotton pants as he shuffles along through the forest.

It isn't until he gets to the center of town that he stops, staring at his surroundings with blank eyes. Well, great. None of this is registering.

Attention, Luceti. Would the owners of a blonde derp please come and claim your friend? He's not going anywhere for a while. It's a little too hard to process anything right now.

Is he staring at you? Or you? You seem like someone interesting.]

[He tilts his head toward her when he hears her call out to him.

Roxas...right. That's his name. That's what they told him. He doesn't show any signs of recognizing the girl though.]

...

[He supposes that he ought to know her, but he doesn't. He can't pinpoint anything about her. So for now he'll just stare at her with that same vacant expression.]

[ ooooooooooooooooookay something's not right. She pulls up short, just ... staring at him, eyes a little wide. ]

... Roxas? What's wrong? [ ... it is him, right? It's got to be. Ven didn't go missing. At least, not that she heard... but why would EITHER of them be blank like this? No, it has to be Roxas, and ... something must be wrong. She comes in closer, reaching out a hand towards him, visibly concerned. ]

[He waits until Xion approaches him and reaches toward him, not moving and not doing much to stop her. He tilts his head again though.]

...Roxas. [He nods slightly. Yup. That's his name. His gaze leaves Xion's face then and goes back to looking around the village, digging his toes into the dirt a bit. It's...kind of huge, this village. He's not sure what to make of it.]

[ Her memory flashes back to earlier in the month. When she broke. When she turned back, somehow, into a newborn Replica...

... somehow, this is achingly familiar. At least he can talk.

Her expression draws down as her concern intensifies, as she bites her lip. Her hand falls halfway in its journey to his arm, and she just ... peers at his face. ]

Roxas. Do you ... know where you are?

[And his gaze slooowly wanders back, locking eyes with Xion despite not really seeing her. And. Well. He shakes his head no. No, he has no idea what's going on.]

... my name is Xion. [ She smiles at him, so gently. ]

I'm going to bring you home, okay?

...home? [Tilting his head again. He's not sure what this concept really means, but sure, if you say so lady. You seem nice enough.]

Home. It's where we all live. [ She takes his hand, and will start to lead the way, gentle and smiling all the while. ]

[...okay 8D He'll hold her hand and let himself be lead back to KH house, just glancing at the village and flapping his wings to shake loose a few stray feathers.] ...all?

Yeah. You, me, Axel, Sora, Kairi, and Riku.

[ She manages to say that name without any particular inflection at all. Were this any other scenario she'd be a little proud of herself...

Lead, lead, lead. ]

[He has no idea who any of those people are, and it's probably pretty clear given how he just continues to stare at Xion. But he walks along, briefly tightening his grip on her hand. Whether he recognizes it or not, he is a little scared of what's going on considering to him, he's been dropped in some strange foreign place by himself without any sense of knowledge.]

... [ Roxas. She squeezes his hand back, her smile fading to be overridden by her worry again. This isn't good...

Thankfully, they weren't far from the house. Once they're in the door, she IMMEDIATELY calls out ]

Axel?

[ ... the hint of urgency in her voice should be enough to tell him something's wrong. ]

[Axel was in his room, but his door was open so he hears Xion come in and call out his name. And yes, the way she says it makes him jump up and head out there.

His first thought is Vanitas is causing trouble again, but once he steps out there and sees Roxas he's both surprised and relieved. He starts to cheerfully greet them but glances at Xion, his brow furrowing in confusion once he remembers her tone.]

Something wrong?

[Hi bff! We have no idea who you are! Roxas is going to grip on Xion's hand again briefly as he takes in Axel's appearance. Bro, you are tall. And your hair is red like Luke's. He met Luke ~~because I'm time-manipulating threads~~ briefly, but it's still the same brightness. He blinks slowly, turning his head back to Xion. Who is this and why did you bring me to him?]

[ She feels the squeeze on her hand, and looks back at Roxas, first. ] This is Axel. He's our friend. He lives here, too. Remember?

[ After searching Roxas's face a moment, she looks back at Axel, and her eyes are a little wide around the edges with panic, or maybe just plain fear. ]

[He... doesn't remember? That's. really jarring. Axel tries to give Xion a reassuring look but he really probably only looks worried, and probably even slightly dejected. He scratches the back of his head and turns to Roxas.]

Y-yeah. Axel, remember? [And glancing back to Xion.] You find him like this?

[The blank expression shifts from Xion up to Axel again.] Axel...[But the way he says it is a pretty clear indication that he's just repeating the name, not actually acknowledging who the redhead is.] ...hello. [Being around people in Luceti thus far has helped him be a bit more alive than when he was first in Never Was.]

[ She takes a deep breath, squeezes Roxas's hand again, then releases it. ]

Roxas, I'll be right back. Wait here, okay?

[ ... she moves over to Axel.

GRABS HIM.

And pulls him down the hallway, away from Roxas. Not very far. But she does drop her voice to a whisper, so only he can hear. ]

I just found him that way in the middle of the village! He just... [ She looks at him, bites her lip, then looks back up at Axel ] The Malnosso did something! But I've never seen him like this before... what are we going to do?

[GRABBED AND DRAGGED AWAY. He sighs after she's done talking, keeping his own voice low when he speaks.]

I've seen him like this before. Right after a Nobody is born they're "hazy" like this during their first week. Roxas was like a zombie for most of his first week, couldn't really speak and for the first few days didn't remember nothing he was told. Dunno if that's the case here, though. We'll... just have to keep an eye on him until he snaps out of this.

So ... he's like a brand new Nobody again?

[ She looks over at him once more. ..... just like her. When she was new ... she could barely respond to anything. And when her appearance broke like that... when she turned back into a new Replica...

She opens her mouth, as if to speak, but no words come out. This is just too sad. And she's scared for her friend. At least she turned back. What's going to happen to Roxas?

... and then something else occurs to her. ]

Vanitas can't find out. He can't.

It's good you found Roxas before he did that's for sure.

[That would have been a disaster. Axel glances down the hallway to Roxas for a moment, then turns back to Xion. He isn't even sure if that's what's wrong with Roxas, but what else could it be? He just hopes that Roxas will start to remember things again.]

Don't worry about Vanitas. As long as we can keep Roxas home, even if he does find out, he won't know where to find him. Maybe we can get Sora and Kairi to help us babysit him for the time being.

... okay. [ But she's still clearly not happy. She shoots Axel one last look, then immediately moves back over to Roxas, taking one of his hands in hers again. It ... it makes her feel better, like she's anchoring him down, somehow. Like he might leave otherwise... ]

[Roxas was letting his gaze wander around the area of the house when those two took off to talk, so when Xion grabs his hand again he tilts his head to look at her. Hi...who are you again? Oh, right...you're the nice girl. He'll let his hand fit into hers, also peering around for the tall redheaded man. He blinks momentarily, tilting his head backwards to look behind him as well. Well...this is different.]

[After following Xion back out there Axel just watches them for a moment. Well, at least Roxas trusts Xion. Though last time he was like this he was fascinated by Xion so it's not really surprising.

...this is going to be tough, though. Xion is freaked out and Roxas is spaced out. Hmm, maybe he can try to get things under control a little.]

You guys hungry? And later we can get some ice cream, maybe that'd help. [Ice cream always helps okay.]
