Fifty-Sixth Keychain - [Voice/Action]

Man, what's up with this heat wave? Like three days last week and now the second day in a row this week? Axel, maybe you had it right. The ocean's sounding pretty good right now. It's probably too late in the day to get out there though.

[And maybe Axel was right about a few other things. Mainly, Roxas needs to be more of a teenager and less of researcher. So today he's taken the redhead's advice and enlisted in some tomfoolery of his own.

It just happens to be in the form of water balloons. A whole bucket of them, and he's sitting next to them outside of what would be KH house if it was visible to everyone.]

So...I've got a bunch of water balloons that are dying to be popped. Who's up for a fight? Some of you actually don't have a choice, but I'm pretty sure you know who you guys are.

[Don't ask him; he read about it in a book.]

[She does need a distraction from moping. Not that it would be hard for her to find one.]

Exactly! I think we're getting a lot of people to show up, too. [Well in Roxas' world, anything over five is a lot so...]

Think we should have invited Terra, too?

[He watches that balloon being lifted into Sora's hand, grabbing a green one himself.]

What kind of persuasion are you talking?

...you can tell? [Which he later realizes is a pretty stupid question. He and Ven don't even dress alike, really.]

Anyway, just said what's up. That's all.

Tell me about it. I'm still trying to figure it all out.

Both, kinda? You can throw them at other people and they'll pop. I mean I guess you can throw them at yourself and pop them but that seems silly.

[See that would make sense if it was anybody but Roxas who was planning it. He's mostly planning to take Oswald back to where KH house is. Why not? Seemingly empty lot with lots of space to run around in? Seems great.]

Hey, Oswald! Over here!

Well you throw them at people mostly. I think. That's about the only thing I've heard of them being used for.

Should be. Feel like popping a few?

It's pretty much what it sounds like. Just a balloon filled with a lot of water that you can pop and get wet with.

You wouldn't throw 'em at anyone if you didn't want to get wet.

...of course, that doesn't sound too bad in this heat.

Pretty much why we decided to have a fight today. Interested in joining us?

There's a giant bucket of balloons. I'd say we're pretty open to just about everyone.

I'm heading into the center of town to grab a few more people who wanted to play. I can meet you there?

[And, indeed, by the time Roxas arrives at the designated playing site, he will find Lina up somewhere with a good vantage point, looking around for him.]

Right. Meet ya there!

[He closes the journal and heads into town, keeping his eyes peeled not only for the others he was collecting but for Lina as well. He doesn't know her name, but he vaguely remembers an incident with her and a sandwich so she's not too hard to find. He approaches and waves.]

Hey. You're on time.

[Lina waves enthusiastically as soon as she spots Roxas, dropping neatly out of the tree she'd clambered up to hurry over.]

Yep! When there's a way to beat the heat to be had, you can definitely count on me. [She darts over to examine the water balloons.]

You seem quite a bit livelier than you did last time I saw you. How're you feeling?

[He blinks in surprise as she drops down next to him. He's only got a few of the balloons with him. Roxas' thinking was bringing everyone back to "the empty lot" where house 14 was hidden. A lot more space and less likely to hit people with balloons and make them mad. But he was considerate enough to bring a few for her in the meantime.]

Glad you see it that way. [There's a slightly sheepish grin when she says the last piece though.] Better. A lot better. Back to normal, at least. Sorry about your sandwich.

[She takes one of the balloons, bouncing it speculatively from hand to hand.]

It was a good sandwich. [A petulant frown creases her face.] But hey, I'm really glad that wasn't normal for you. You're way less creepy this way.

I'm Lina, by the way. In case you forgot. Lina Inverse.

Well, I guess I don't have anything else to do!

Well, I could try and reach him over the journals. I think a little fun could do him some good, anyway.

[Oswald honestly doesn't care where the fight is, as long as he can kick some butt at it. Competitive rabbit is competitive.

He hobbles towards Roxas, his big floppy feet deterring his speed just a little.]

Hey, Roxas! Ready to get soaked?

Oh, my, couldn't someone get hurt? [Grune doesn't actually know what a balloon is.]

But how do you fill it with water?
