Man, what's up with this heat wave? Like three days last week and now the second day in a row this week? Axel, maybe you had it right. The ocean's sounding pretty good right now. It's probably too late in the day to get out there though.

[And maybe Axel was right about a few other things. Mainly, Roxas needs to be more of a teenager and less of researcher. So today he's taken the redhead's advice and enlisted in some tomfoolery of his own.

It just happens to be in the form of water balloons. A whole bucket of them, and he's sitting next to them outside of what would be KH house if it was visible to everyone.]

So...I've got a bunch of water balloons that are dying to be popped. Who's up for a fight? Some of you actually don't have a choice, but I'm pretty sure you know who you guys are.

[Here he is now, running towards the plaza area. He expects the fight will be held near the fountain, because the more water, the better.]

[See that would make sense if it was anybody but Roxas who was planning it. He's mostly planning to take Oswald back to where KH house is. Why not? Seemingly empty lot with lots of space to run around in? Seems great.]

[Oswald honestly doesn't care where the fight is, as long as he can kick some butt at it. Competitive rabbit is competitive.

He hobbles towards Roxas, his big floppy feet deterring his speed just a little.]

You bet. [He's a little amused watching the rabbit approach.] We're heading back to this clearing we found. We've got a bunch of balloons out there. Sound good?

Oh, sure! You got some stuff we can hide behind? Water balloon fights are more fun if ya can try to hide.

Definitely. There are trees and buildings and all sorts of other stuff out there. It's just hard to describe so that's why I'm taking everyone back as a group, see?

[He bounces back and forth on the balls of his feet, clearly excited.] Oh, sounds perfect! Let's go!

[And Roxas starts leading!] When's the last time you played with water balloons anyway, Oswald?

[Oswald falls silent for a moment, his ears drooping. He used to have water balloon fights with Ortensia and the kids. Or sometimes even paint balloon fights. And then Horace or the animatronic pals would join in and it ended up being a vicious battle between just them and Oswald, while the others watched.

That was before the Thinner Disaster, obviously.]

[Roxas can tell that it's something Oswald's a bit depressed about, but he won't pry.] You're still ahead of me. I've never had one.

Believe it or not, I've done quite a bit while being here. I guess that's the kind of good part.

Yeah, definitely! Ya wouldn't think so with that barrier, but there's a lotta freedom here. No people counting on you, or tellin' you what to do...

I don't know about that...I've got a lot of people counting on me for certain things.

Nah, it's not bad. I just didn't think there were any important things to do here.

They may not be important to other people, but they're important to my friends and me.

Ohhh, you mean like... eatin' hotdogs together and havin' water balloon fights?

...more like ice cream, not hotdogs. [Though Oswald has it nailed. Those things are important to him because, well, think about it. His two best friends are dead at home, his Other absorbs him and resumes to not having his own life. Of course the little things matter.

Then again, there's the fact that he has to protect everyone from people like Vanitas...]

There are other parts of it, too, but you're pretty close.

But those aren't real responsibilities. Those are just things you do to have fun. Nobody's countin' on you to do anything you don't want to do, like... go to school or... do your job. [Or keep giant Shadow Blots sealed inside thinner jugs.]
