Man, what's up with this heat wave? Like three days last week and now the second day in a row this week? Axel, maybe you had it right. The ocean's sounding pretty good right now. It's probably too late in the day to get out there though.

[And maybe Axel was right about a few other things. Mainly, Roxas needs to be more of a teenager and less of researcher. So today he's taken the redhead's advice and enlisted in some tomfoolery of his own.

It just happens to be in the form of water balloons. A whole bucket of them, and he's sitting next to them outside of what would be KH house if it was visible to everyone.]

So...I've got a bunch of water balloons that are dying to be popped. Who's up for a fight? Some of you actually don't have a choice, but I'm pretty sure you know who you guys are.

After hearing THAT, Xion immediately heads outside to sit on the front step, her chin propped up on her hands as she watches him and his water balloons. ]

So has anyone taken you up on your offer yet?

[She's caught him while he's still filling them up and tying the ends, setting them in the big bucket.]

Yeah, a lot of people! Can you believe that?

Really? [ She smiles a tiny bit. ] I guess I can't blame them. It's been really hot lately.

[ ... her eyes shift off to the side, and her smile fades. She's still paying attention, Roxas, really. But it's hard to focus these days. ]

Really. Exactly, I don't blame them either.

[Originally as he was speaking he was busy tying more balloons but...he suddenly tunes in that Xion's distracted. He approaches her then, purple balloon in hand and bucket in the other. He sits down next to her to keep working, but he's got an eye on her.]

Huh? [ She jerks to attention, finding him suddenly beside her. Jeez, when had that happened? ] Sorry... it's nothing, really. I'm just ... thinking.

[ Her mouth tightens, briefly. But she shakes her head, slow and gentle, and the look disappears. ]

[He blinks in surprise at her reaction.] You sure? Sometimes your thinking is kind of...intense.

... that's kind of funny, coming from you. [ With a gentle smile, and a just as gentle tease. Then her smile fades, and she shakes her head again. ] I'm just thinking about everything that's been happening, that's all.

Watch it. [But he's teasing right back. Noooo smile, come back! Roxas just frowns a bit himself then.]

...[He bumps his shoulder against hers a little before offering a water balloon.] We'll get through it. Just like everything else...together. [That's what he had to believe, anyway. That's what he had decided with Sora.]
