[Housemates will probably find Roxas in the kitchen with newspapers on the table, a palate of paint, some paper...and a very disgruntled cat who doesn't understand why his human wants him to dip his pretty paws in the wet colors.]

[There's a hiss from the cat before he swats at the paint palate. Roxas sighs and shakes his head, giving up for now. Artists can be pretty temperamental, after all. Instead he'll focus himself on the journal, opening it up and idly leafing through it. His conversation with Naoto's been on his mind, and he has an important question.]

So...what's the main difference between being a boy and being a girl? I mean, girls can do things boys can, right? So what difference does it make? [He doesn't quite get why people were upset with Naoto for being a girl detective, that's all.] Answer me that.

And answer me this: how come everyone else got a horse last week except for me? Total bummer.

Not really, but it's interesting that a lot of them fall along the same lines. Looks like it's common across all of the worlds, can you believe that?

It isn't all too surprising really. Even though we're all from different worlds, it seems we are all bound to the same common roles in society as each other so naturally the judgement isn't foreign to any of us.

Think the Malnosso have something to do with it? [It's a far-fetched theory, but he has a train of thought with that.]

No, it has nothing to do with the Malnosso. It's simply normal human behavior and thought process.

No but I mean...if they can come to our worlds and take us away without anybody else noticing, what makes you think they can't effect the way the overall world thinks and behaves?

[A thoughtful hum]

The possibility of them actually effecting our home worlds in such a way is very slim. I believe the Malnosso are only able to effect us when we're in their world, their territory. Their powers must be limited in some way, they aren't Gods.

I guess that makes sense. It was just a thought, that's all.

What would you do if your theory was somehow correct?

I'd try to change it. Isn't that the whole point? If you don't like something, change it.

Yes, but how could you change it? The Malnosso are on the outside of the barrier, out of our reach.

Then you work harder to break the barrier. That's a minor detail.

I see. And once it's broken? Would you be prepared to face them and defeat them?

I've faced bigger bullies than them. Believe me.

No, of course not. I just mean...most people don't really get it when I talk about it.

Yeah...and some people kind of just write it off as something totally different. Not that I can blame them, it happens. But it's still reassuring.

It's not uncommon for people to do that, especially if they make no desire to try and understand it. [A soft smile at the last part]

At least I know there's a few people out there that are willing to give it a shot. That's what counts to me.

That itself seems to count for a lot of people. We only wish to be understood.

To be understood and to understand. We'll get there someday. I think we're on the right track.
