[There's a hiss from the cat before he swats at the paint palate. Roxas sighs and shakes his head, giving up for now. Artists can be pretty temperamental, after all. Instead he'll focus himself on the journal, opening it up and idly leafing through it. His conversation with Naoto's been on his mind, and he has an important question.]

So...what's the main difference between being a boy and being a girl? I mean, girls can do things boys can, right? So what difference does it make? [He doesn't quite get why people were upset with Naoto for being a girl detective, that's all.] Answer me that.

And answer me this: how come everyone else got a horse last week except for me? Total bummer.

Yeah, I agree. I wouldn't put on a demonstration cause knowledge can turn the tide in a battle. For example, the leader of our village can kill with a single punch. If people knew she could kill with a single hit, people would fight her from long distance, right? [ She pauses. ] Well, long distance may not work for other reasons but that's besides the point. So I guess that places me in a catch 22 for now, huh?

Yeah, I guess so. [Not that he quite understands what a catch 22 is, but he can guess.] Well...let me know if I can help, whatever you decide to do.

Do you like to spar often? [ This comes after a self-assured hmph, but, she still likes this guy anyways. ]

Yeah, you could say that. A few of my friends and I head out to the battle dome every couple of days or so just to have something to do. Up for a match sometime?

The battle dome? What's that? [ She hasn't quite heard of that facility, if only because her teammates seem to stray from it, or at least use other sources of training. ] I'd love a spar, actually. I can't get rusty just because I got kidnapped. [ What do you mean there's a growl to the end of that which is a giant, "fuck you" to her captors?! Preposterous!

Actually, no, she does growl in reference to her kidnappers. ]

It's a giant building where you can basically run simulations for practice. You've really never been out there? I can show you later if you want.

No. I've only been here for a couple of days now. Showing me later sounds fine though, thank you! What type of simulations are available anyways?

Oh, right...okay, you're forgiven then. [Hmm...he pauses for a minute to think of how to explain.] Anything you want, really. You kind of program it to do whatever you want with however many opponents you want.

Do I just make up opponents...? Like abilities and everything? Or do I make up terrain? How many things are customizable?

Well they can be opponents from your world or someone else's world...all sorts of skill levels and everything. If you concentrate enough you can build whatever setting and terrain you want. I've seen people replicate worlds from back home before. It's all digital so you can't actually really get hurt or die, but it's pretty good for training. Just about everything is customizable now if I remember right.

Ah. This actually sounds really fun! Thank you for all the information, Roxas. Are you able to train as a group, or only with yourself?

[ Because she does want to train with someone like a comrade thing. Why not! If Roxas knew enough he could clearly help her out and have fun while doing so! ]

I've trained with my best friends a couple of times. You just need to set it for a higher number of enemies if you want a real challenge.

[There's a pause, if only because he's not quite sure how to take that compliment.] Thanks, but it's all just research I do around here. I like knowing everything I can. I like to be someone who can give out answers. I've been here long enough...I should be that kind of guy.

Hmph. I could use a real challenge right now. Glad to see it works with company. [ She thinks someone like Kisame would be able to hold them both off but she'd rather go with his suggestions. She isn't sure what happens if you die in this world. ]

Yeah. Knowledge is one of the biggest keys to fighting an enemy. Knowledge and intelligence can do many things what brute strength or combat abilities fail to do alone.
