[When the feed clicks on, there's a few moments of silence as Roxas thinks of how to phrase his question. He had been mulling this over for a while now, and he still wasn't any closer to getting an answer. ...man...Axel would know. Roxas really does miss the redhead sometimes, but each day's getting a little better. Sora, too, but that's an even longer process. It always helped to have something else to throw himself into though, and this was the perfect example.]

Um...hi. [Well, it's a start.] So...where I come from, birthdays aren't really something that are celebrated. Sure, we kind of get older, but nobody really acknowledges it. There's no big celebration, no presents, nothing like that. I've been here for over three years and I still don't really get it, I guess.

...anyway, there's this girl. She's a really good friend of mine, and I want to do something nice for her for her birthday. It's at the end of the week. I know that doesn't give me a lot of time, but it's really important it's something special. I guess what I'm asking is...who has a good idea? [Because he sure as hell doesn't.] Thanks in advance.

Weather's better today. Maybe I should get out of the library for a while. [Think, think, think...oh!] Hey, Luke! Wanna test out those roller blades? Get back to me, I'm bringing them outside anyway.

[And with that he's cutting off the feed. Shortly after, other villagers can find Roxas in the plaza riding on his skateboard, rollerblades thrown over his shoulder. Feel free to say hello.]

Heh heh... [He rubs at his nose a bit, before he stops to watch Roxas on the skateboard. How does he even balance on that thing? At least, that's what he thinks to himself as he puts a hand on his hip.] Is that that board thing?

Skateboard. [He jumps off of it, kicking it up so he can grab an end and hoist it up to chest level to show Luke.] You really don't have something like this where you're from?

[Luke bends down to examine the bottom of it, and he reaches out to slide his finger along one of the wheels and make it spin in the air.] Not that I know of, no. At least, I never saw anything like it when we traveled around.

It might take you a few tries to get the hang of it, but it's pretty easy. I just hope you don't mind falling.

Heh, it sure wouldn't be the first time I fell off of something. [He gestures to the skates.] So I'm riding the skate board, and you're wearing those things?

I might as well give them a try. I don't think it's a good idea for you to be on wheels with the chance for your feet to go two different directions anyway.

[And Luke just get this awful image in his head. His right leg going way out to the right, his left going to the left, and what happens afterward...

Wince.]

... Right. Good point.

[And with that, he raises up a foot.] So just... slide it under here, I guess?

Stop looking so unsure. Don't you trust me? [But he's setting him up with the skateboard, positioning it under Luke's foot and waiting in case he has to catch the redhead.]

Of course I do! [This has nothing to do with trust okay, it's his own abilities he's worried about!

But Luke tests the skateboard at first, moving the board back and forth with his foot, then pushes down on it before he moves his other foot up to step up on it. And immediately, he widens his eyes and has both arms out; good lord, it already feels unstable.]

[...sorry, Luke, he can't help but grin.] See, you're doing better than you thought already. I wasn't even sure you'd get both feet up there.

I'm starting to wonder if I should've... [The skateboard drifts backward, and Luke leans to the side and raises his arms and just tries not to fall. Jeez, how did Roxas not lose his balance on this thing...?]

[He'll just quickly step behind to make sure Luke doesn't start rolling off to parts unknown.] It takes practice. I mean I was kind of born knowing how to do it...and Sora by proxy knows how to, but...normally it takes lots of practice.

[What, he could totally discover the rest of Luceti like this.] Tch, lucky... I feel like this thing's going to go flying off or something. [To punctuate that, he takes a hold of Roxas' shoulder, as if to make sure of it.

... But he does tilt just slightly to look at the ground.] So how're you supposed to move again?

Well...you've gotta take one foot off of the board and use it to push against the ground to get you moving before quickly bringing it back up to glide.

Oh... So, like...

[Half of him doesn't even want to try taking his foot off of the one thing connected to the ground.

But the other half of him is always willing to try new things, no matter how stupid or dangerous they are. So, after a few seconds of hesitation, he takes one foot off, lets go of Roxas' shoulder, and pushes against the ground -]

Whoa - ! [FOOT BACK ON THE BOARD and arms up to help balance him, aaaaaaaaaaah]

[He's not exactly quick to make sure Luke doesn't fall, though he does hover nearby still just to keep him steady.] Maybe not that fast. I wonder if it'd be easier for you to get off of the board and then put your one foot on it instead of trying to go the other way.

R-Right...!

[So Luke steps off with a bit of hesitancy, watching the board continue to go forward a little before lifting his foot to stop it.

After that, though, he glances back at Roxas.]

I think I can get a handle on this. You try out those roller blade things, I'll keep going with this, okay?
