Twenty-Seventh Keychain-[Written]

And just when things were starting to be peaceful around here. ~~I thought I wouldn't~~ ~~I can't believe~~ ~~This isn't fair...~~ Forget it.

Raine, I was going to try and go to school but it'll have to wait for a while. Sorry. Things have been a little...weird lately. What's everybody else been up to, besides throwing parties and planning summer things. Just curious.

[Filtered to Sora]

Hey, I have no problem leaving right now. Meet me at the building I saw you last time.

[Filtered to Axel]

Technically I could just go to your room but I'm not up for moving. I want to talk to you about something.

[ooc: strikes barely legible; basically you'd have to squint hard]

[looks down at the floor, watching Aros' claws flex in the wood and nodding again. He's registering what's being said, really, but he's still completely blank]

Yeah...true, I did forget that. I think just because I've never seen you fight since we've been here.

[he scowls a bit at the last few sentences, looking away in thought.]

I know that, but Axel and Sora...they said I can't fight. Axel said I'm strong but not strong enough. Sora won't let me fight either because he doesn't "want me to get hurt". I can fight on my own.

...Axel and Kairi could; Axel has his chakrams, but Kairi doesn't have her Keyblade anymore.

Roxas can fight. [And as if the prove the point, Aros is going to crouch in front of him, flexing his talons. He's not one for sparring and he's terrified of keyblades but... but--]

We are part of Sora. We are strong.

[And with that, Aros moves at an ungodly speed to take a swipe at Roxas with one of his claws. I HOPE YOU GOT READY TO BLOCK THAT LOL because otherwise you're getting a cut on your belly from sharp darkness-claws]

[As soon as Aros swiped his claws forward, Roxas summons one of his Keyblades to block the slash barely in time. He doesn't NEED any more cuts man]

Hey!

[Snarl, and then Aros is going to feint to the right and then with that same ungodly speed and dexterity slash from the left. Even if it doesn't connect he's going to make an impossible movement onto Roxas's wall there to prepare for the next slash]

[Roxas blocks that slash as well, backing up to prepare for the next one] What're you doing?

Fighting.

[And with that he leaps off the wall, going for Roxas's face. He's sure the other is going to catch him in that movement though, so at the time he is caught there he intends to swing with his leg to hit the Nobody in the gut]

[Roxas uses the Keyblade to block the hit to his face, but as he's attempting to summon the other, Aros' leg connects with his stomach and pushes him back, catching him completely off guard]

What're you trying to prove? [And there he goes, trying to summon his second Keyblade again]

I won't lose. [...Not to Sora. He plans to challenge Sora, and if he can't beat Roxas, then he's not going to get there. Xemnas falls into that too. This is all connected to the introspective heartless, but maybe Roxas can't connect it right now.

But he probably can. Still keyblades, his natural bane... Time to fade into the shadows and then re-appear behind Roxas in order to give a nice back-stab]

[Well, you've got that right, Roxas isn't connecting it right now even though he should. He's still fixated on this whole thing being about his own ability to fight. Because the room's sort of small and the dissolving shadow trick was unexpected, he doesn't have enough time to turn around before Aros stabs him in the back. He swings one of the Keyblades behind him, hoping to hit the Heartless while he turns to face the direction he was in]

[It doesn't hit him, but the heartless, being as how he's not fighting out of hunger right now, is being overly rational. Perhaps rational enough as to damage his fighting style. Because he damn well could've still made that stab normally, but his reluctance to be hit by a keyblade him him skirt that attack and pull back with a snarl]

[Roxas whirls around to face him again, poised and ready for the next attack while trying not to cringe at the pain in his back. It wasn't that he wasn't used to taking hits from Heartless, but this was still different.]

[...Time to mix it up. Roxas wasn't attacking instantly and therefore Aros more than had time to dart up to a corner of the room and from there leaps towards the other. Thing is, he's planning to pull the same trick he did to Yuffie a while ago. Because it's indoors there are enough shadows here for him to fizzle into them in mid-air. It's complicated and tiring, but as Roxas doesn't have a heart he doesn't need to worry about losing himself and besides... he needs to go all out.

Thus, mid-way through he new lunge Aros will vanish and then appear a few seconds later to Roxas's left for a new swipe. Thing is that expels so much darkness a Nobody like Roxas should realize it.

[unfortunately for Aros, Roxas is focused once again and as soon as Roxas picks up the darkness he instinctively swings his Keyblade out to the side, hoping for a direct hit. Before even stopping to find out, he already moved toward the other side of the room, knowing better than to back into a corner. If Aros could play with shadows and appear out of thin air, nothing was safe, and he'd rather have enough room to move instead of being stuck]

[Damn. Roxas was strong, as expected. Thus--] See? Roxas is strong.

[And with that, Aros moves faster than before and aims low, going for his legs. His aim here is hit the legs for a trip wit his claws, but failing that he's going to take advantage of the fact he doesn't have bones to bend his back to and impossible angle and hit Roxas in the face with a kick]

Damn it, is this what you're trying to prove?

[Roxas unfortunately falls for that trap, blocking the hit to his legs but instead being kicked in the face, falling over and smashing his head on the floor]

[And now Aros makes the impossible front-flip from his current position needed to try to pin Roxas with his his arms and legs]

[and because Roxas doesn't have enough time to react, shit, he's pinned. He's not moving yet, carefully considering Aros and waiting to see what the Heartless is going to do]

[He pauses there, staring for a long while, and then, simply-]

Sora beat you. Sora beat Xemnas. Sora is who I want to defeat.

[Meaning that I have to me or become strong enough to defeat the likes of Xemnas. However--]

You want to too.

[Roxas pauses then, almost tempted to ask how the Heartless knows but oh duh, that whole same person mentally linked kind of thing. He simply nods instead in agreement]

I do. [however, there's also the extent that Roxas wants to beat Xemnas himself]

[Aros lets him god there, and retreat back a good yard or two to make sure he's out of range if he made Roxas angry]

We can beat Xemnas.

They won't let me. [he's not ANGRY per say, though he's a little bitter than Aros beat him down]

[Aros pauses for a long time and then slowly digs some of his claws into Roxas's wall. He pauses here... he's not sure how to say what he wants to say next and it's unsettling to him. This topic in general]

Whatever it is you're nervous about, don't be. Just say it. I trust you enough.

Roxas is Roxas. [...Mean you're enough of your own person that you don't need to be cowed around by Axel or Sora]
