Sixty-First Keychain - [Written/Accidental Voice]

[Never mind the colored pawprints that are appearing on the journal pages. Roxas is too focused on the task at hand to really care that his painting prodigy cat is using his journal for scrap paper. Soon, words carefully appear on the page in neat handwriting.]

Okay. Toxona and I have been thinking...all of this started Sunday, right? At least that's when weird things started for us. We wanted to know if anyone remembers some big event that happened that day that could have caused all of us to walk away with scrambled memories and different ideas. Please let us know if you have any leads. We'll be in the library all day.

[He then turns to his friend and business partner, Toxona, who's sitting next to him in the library. She's busy writing notes on another sheet of paper, and Nea the cat is on the table between them. Roxas is going to ignore his cat who's pawing at the journal and focus his attention on the girl.]

So Xion's convinced I'm supposed to know who Jixsan is. Has she said anything to you at all?

Jixsan? [Toxona looks up from her paperwork to shake her head.] No, she hasn't. It's been a few days since we last spoke, actually. Did she tell you anything about this person aside from their name?

[He shakes his head a bit.] Not a lot, but the guy looked a lot like Sanji. I don't know, she's not the only one acting weird. You saw Luke's eyes, right? I'm still trying to figure that one out...and it's like he doesn't even remember...you know. [About how he's dating Xion, he means. Nea the cat is growing bored with this conversation though and is going to continue making pawprints on the journal, walking right over the pages...and right on the voice function button of the journal.]

Sanji... [Pausing briefly to think on that name, not paying any attention to the bored cat. She isn't as acquainted with Sanji as the others are, but the name kinda rings a bell. She blinks at his next statement though] ...Yes, I was able to notice Luke's eyes. It's baffled me but this is a bit more of a surprise. Has he completely forgotten about it?

He hasn't said anything about it, and he hasn't been hanging out with her as much as he used to. He's actually been around Kairi more...I think the only one who's normal right now is Riku...which kind of doesn't help us much. What about your friends that you've made here? Are they any different?

We should speak to him personally about the matter then. I'd like to know if his own memory is as it was before or not. As for my friends... [A thoughtful hum] Rise and Roji both appeared to have changed slightly. Not in appearance, but their personalities and memories. I do not believe any others have changed significantly.

Maybe we should start holding interviews with people. You know, interrogations and get the whole story and see if we can piece things together. [Nea meows at Roxas then, tail swishing and looking into the camera of the journal.] Not now, Nea. [He pets the cat's head though.] I mean maybe there is an experiment going on, sure, but this seems really tame even for them. I don't get it. [The cat meows again, and Roxas looks away from Toxona, a bit irritated.] What? [And it's then that he notices the fact that the voice button is pressed down.] Nea, get off! [And there's a loud hiss along with some meowing before Roxas scrambles to disconnect the feed. Maybe they'll get lucky and all of that didn't just get blasted to the whole village...]

I see that! [The writing is scrawled and hurried as he pries the cat off of the table, painted paws and all. Nea looks far too pleased.]

...you're not going to tell me it's not as bad as it seems, are you?

At least you haven't changed. Your memories are all still in tact, right?

As far as I'm aware. With an experiment like this, other people are better judges.

There's a whole bunch of people in town who currently think they're from a world different to their own. If you can't remember April 1st, you're affected. If you remember a whole bunch of people vanishing that day, you're not.

[Does he remember Sunday? He remembers...well...]

I wasn't here. I got back from a mission on the second. Missed all the fun. [This smile, it says some fun.] I've managed to piece it together from a whole bunch of different accounts from people.

[And his attention's suddenly diverted.]

What kind of mission?

[She opens her mouth to respond to his suggestion, only to close it when Nea starts to hiss at Roxas. Siiiiiigh. That cat really doesn't like him. She stands and walks over to the other side of the table to try and pick the cat up.]

I don't understand why you insisted on bringing Nea to the library, of all places.

Because I thought he'd do better in a quiet environment where he can let his creativity out. [He's pointing at the paw prints on the page and the paint palette next to it.] Maybe I should have asked him first.

[She chuckles a little and pets Nea's back once he's in her arms]

Do you believe he would have replied to you saying 'yes'?

[Nea's pretty happy with Toxona at least, even if he's still staring at Roxas.]

It's possible. We're still working on voice lessons.

Need something with Sanji, do you? [Seeing as he can't just go and ignore that name.]

Maybe not need something, but I'm curious why he's referring to himself in third person.

[Voice]

Because he's not Sanji to begin with. [a shrug] Makes the third-person bullshit easier to navigate.

Let's cut to the chase then. Who do you think you are?

[Welp. It's pretty obvious he's being talked about here, and though he usually keeps quiet, this is all kind of frustrating in his own way.] My eyes are fine.

Man, have you seen your eyes? They're gold. That's not normal here.

Fortunately Luke can't feel bitterness over it.]

Maybe I was never normal to begin with.

No, I mean...they're supposed to be...you know. Not. Gold. What's changed?

Ah, I'm glad someone's trying to work things out! This is the first time I've experienced an experiment but from what people are saying it's more complicated than normal.

If it helps, a friend of mine is a blue pony now. Which memories are changed and worlds people seem to think they're from are entirely random.

...your friend's a pony. [That's a new one.] I've been noticing it's random for the most part, but a lot of my friends think they're from our world instead. I'm not sure that's random.

It seems so! I suppose I've lucked out since nothing strange has happened to me yet, but...

Hm, maybe it's something to do with the people you spend time with? I don't know how many ponies Ryoji-kun talks to... Granted Ryoji-kun talks to everyone so he could have an entire harem of ponies and I might not know it. What about your friends? Where are they from usually?

There aren't that many ponies around here, trust me. Maybe three or four, but not enough for a harem. ...my friends are from different worlds. Luke's from a place called Auldrant, and Sanji's a pirate. But both of them are suddenly convinced they're from our world.
