[And so he closes his journal and sets it off to the side somewhere. Probably away enough to where the darn thing can't start recording pfff. He's sitting in their normal spot on the roof, with his legs hanging over the edge. He's already waiting there with the ice cream and there's also a medium sized wooden box next to him. Now we just need a Roxas.]

[Up on the roof nao. Hi Axel. Heading over now and bending at the waist to look at him] Hi.

[Snorts, lol why are you so weird. Just grins and puts Roxas' ice cream right in front of his face to give it to him.]

[takes the ice cream and sits down to eat it] Thanks, I needed this.

[flaring]

Yeah I bet. Another year, huh?

I had to look at myself in the mirror to make sure I was me instead of Sora.

[Leans in so he can peer at Roxas, actually getting pretty close here.]

[Blinks a bit. Sup creeper.] ...what?

[Lightly shoves Roxas to the side and then pulls back.]

Nah, still Roxas.

[laughs slightly and almost falls over] Yeah, yeah. [licks his ice cream] You wouldn't like me as much if I wasn't.

[Just grins and nods, looking over at Axel. ...and his box] What's that?

[Action]

[flaring]

Something for you.

[Action]

Really? What kind of something?

[flaring]

Ah, well, just a gift. You know, in celebration of another year passing.

[Action]

[perplexme]

...you got me a present? Really? [He shouldn't be that surprised, but Axel's never given him a present so he's pretty fascinated] Can I see it?

[Action]

[flaring]

Well today is kinda special.

[Picks up the box and hands it over to him.]

Open it.

[Action]

[Takes the box from Axel's hand and almost eagerly opens it, setting the box aside and picking up the kaleidoscope from it. He pauses there for a minute, turning it in his hands and for the life of him he has no idea what it actually is.] What is it?

[Action]

[flaring]

[The kaleidoscope is made out of glass and looks like this. It's about 6 inches long and the wheel is like 3 inches in diameter.]

It's a kaleidoscope. Hold it up to the sun and look through the opening.

[Action]

[Picks up the kaleidoscope and holds it up to his eye, looking at the sun] Wow... [busy spinning it now to look at all of the colors]

[Axel looks amused.]

Like it? I made that myself.

[still busy spinning it and looking at the colors. Anything to do with light obviously makes Roxas happy.] You made it? Axel, this is so cool. Thank you. [Brb busy geeking out]
